- Read verses 7-14. Why do you think John recognized Jesus first (7a)? What did Simon do right away and why (7b)? What did Jesus do for them and why (8-13)? What do you learn from Jesus?
- Read verses 15-17. After eating the breakfast, what did Jesus ask Peter three times? (15a,16a,17a) What were Peter’s answers? (15b,16b,17b) What mission did Jesus give him? (15c,16c,17c) Think about the relationship between love and mission.
- Read verses 18-23. How shall Peter’s life change in the future and why? (18-19a) What life direction did Jesus give him again (19b; Mk 1:17-18)? Then what did Peter ask and what does Jesus’ answer mean? (20-23)
- Read verses 24-25. What does the author John say about this book? (24,25)
