“He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.’”

  1. Who came to the tomb, when and why? (1-3) What was their problem? (Jn 20:11; cf. 14:28) Think about life without resurrection faith (10; Jn 20:19a; Lk 24:13)
  2. What surprising news did the angel deliver to the women? (4-6) And what mission did he give them? (7) What was their response? (8)
  3. Who delivered Jesus’ resurrection news to the disciples? (9,10,13) How did they respond and why? (11-14; Jn 20:24,25) How could they finally believe the resurrection of Jesus? (14; Lk 24:36-43; Jn 20:27-29) Do you believe Jesus’ resurrection?
  4. What command did risen Jesus give the disciples? (15) Why? (16) In what sense was it hard for them to obey it? Yet how did they obey it? (20a) How do you or will you obey the Great Commission?
  5. What signs accompany those who believe? (17,18) What did Jesus do after giving the great commission? (19, 20) How can we go and preach the gospel to all creation overcoming all obstacles? (17, 18, 20; Acts 1:8)
