1. Read 10:1-14. Who was Saul (Act 13:21)? Describe his death and burial (1-12). Why did Saul meet such a miserable death (13-14)?

3. Read 11:10-47. Who did the Lord use to make David king (10, 1 Sam 22:2)? Who were Jashobeam (11) and Eleazar (12-14)? How faithfully did they serve David (15-19)? Who were David's other mighty men (20-46)?

4. Read 12:1-15. When did the men come to David (1), and who were they (2-7)? When did the Gadites come to David (8), and who were they (9-15)? Why was it significant?

5. Read 12:16-22. How did God help David indicate the men's hearts (16-18)? How did the men of Manasseh join David (19-21)? What does 'like an army of God' mean (22)?

6. Read 12:23-40. How many people from each tribe gathered to make David king over all of Israel (23-37)? What was their mindset (38-40)?
